We went skiing! Twice!
Yup, just me and the open trail, man vs. wild, miles of untouched wilderness. It was nice to get away from the hustle of the big city and take in some pure air. I love me some arching.
Skiing is always fun, but its almost sad how little snow there is. Every year it seems to get a little worse. Do we just need to start accepting that snow in Maine is slowly becoming a thing of the past? I started to think about what it would be like if skiing in the east just became a memory: chair lifts rusting away, abandoned lodges, ghost towns up in the mountains of Maine. But I guess we could start growing oranges and grapes. So we’ve got that going for us. I guess it’s true: sometimes when God closes a door, he opens a window…………..to let the toxic fumes out.
And then came New Years eve. Shanz and I decided to spend it with tacos and the Bruins. Unfortunately they lost, but our tacos won. I got 5 pounds of beat up tomatoes from Royal River and made fresh salsa.
I should go pro in tacoing.
